Romance & Relaxation for the Body & Mind

An Aromatherapy bath detoxifies, relaxes muscles, restores the body and pampers YOUR SKIN. With a few drops of the right essential oils, an otherwise average bath can become a personal spa treatment tailored to the needs of your body and mind.

Baths Can Promote Healing & Well-being

During the process of soaking in an Essential Oil bath, you are absorbing the oils through your skin. These volatile oils immediately release into the air sparking your senses and offering you many sensations that are associated with aromatherapy relaxation - a.k.a. tranquility and grounding.

First Things First!

Safety...

Essential oils are highly concentrated plant essence, this means they can be irritating if used undiluted or in high amounts, especially for those with sensitive skin or allergies. So, it’s important to properly prepare the essential oils prior to using them in a bath.

Essential Oils are lipophilic, (oil loving), this means they do not MIX well in water.  You know, have you ever put lemon oil in your water and saw it float around the top and grease up your glass drink bottle?  Or just swallow all the oil on the first swig?  YUP, we need a dispersant!

Using a dispersant will allow the oil to easily mix with the water!  Now that you know this tid-bit, lets talk about doing that with the bath water!

The best way to start a bath is to mix the essential oil/oils selected with some form of an emulsifier or dispersant such as dead sea salts, vegetable glycerin, aloe vera gels or baking soda. If you just drop them in the water without emulsifying them, the drops will float on the surface of the water and come into full strength contact with your skin

Once properly mixed with your dispersant, you can add your mixture to running bath water. This will ensure a nice bath “mixture”.

FOR SALTS  use a hand full or 1/2 - 1 cup of dead sea salt. (this is my favorite) Mix about 6-8 drops of essential oils in the salt before adding to the bath water. I prefer to do a new fresh mixture for each bath.  I always do something different based on how I feel that day!

JOJOBA OIL  use between 1/2 – 1 full teaspoon of Jojoba Oil. Mix 6-8 drops of the essential oil/oils and blend well prior to adding to the bath of running water. Oils have a short shelf life, so I suggest blending a new batch for each use. TIP: mix oil with your bath salts for soft, smooth, detoxified skin!

ALOE VERA GEL Use a tablespoon of organic whole leaf aloe vera or vegetable glycerin. (this is my favorite) Mix 6-8 drops of essential oils with the gel before adding to the bath of running water. Gels have a longer shelf life than vegetable oils.

A hot bath will sensitize and strip your skin of its natural oils.  Do your skin a favor and make it a warm bath as opposed to a very hot bath.  Especially if you have sensitive skin!

Here are some essential oils that I like to use:

RELAXATION, TENSION RELIEF & SLEEP

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)

Roman chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile

 GROUNDING & CENTERING

Vetiver (Vetiver zizanoides)

Frankincense (Boswellia carteri)

EMOTIONAL COMFORT

Neroli or orange blossom (Citrus aurantium)

Ylang Ylang (Cananga odorata)

EARTHY SOOTHING & GROUNDING

Cedarwood

Sandalwood

SKIN RESTORATION & REPAIR

Helichrysum (Helichrysum Italicum)

There are many more to choose from, so do your research and choose wisely!

A SPICY CAUTION:  Some essential oils are very strong "spicy" and can cause skin irritation. I will list SOME of these oils that should be used with caution and further diluted. It’s best to check the properties and cautions associated with the essential oils you plan to use.

Here’s my quick list:

·       Basil (Ocimum basilicum)

·       Bergamot (Citrus bergamia)

·       Black Pepper (Piper nigrum)

·       Cinnamon (Cinnamomun zeylanicum)

·       Clove (Eugenia caryophyllus)

·       Lemon (Citrus limon)

·       Marjoram (Origanum marjorana)

·       Nutmeg (Myristica fragrans)

·       Peppermint (Mentha piperita)

·       Pines (Pinus spp)

·       Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)

·       Spearmint (Menta spicata)

·       Thyme (Thymus vulgaris)

These essential oils have wonderful healing properties and can be used in many ways!  Just take care and use LESS Essential Oil to dilution rate, especially when using them in the bath!

Guide to Taking Care of Your Oil Diffusers

Diffusing essential oils is one of the easiest yet most effective ways for you to experience the aromatic benefits of your favorite essential oil. Over time, your diffuser will develop an oil buildup that potentially can prevent it from working properly, so it is important to understand how to use and take care of it. Here are a few tips that will help you have the best aromatic experience and extend the life of your doTERRA diffuser.

Filling Your Diffuser

  • Use clean, room-temperature tap or distilled water. Make sure the water level does not exceed the water mark.
  • Add 5–12 drops of doTERRA essential oils. You can add more oil for a stronger scent. Experiment with the amount of oil you use and find what works best for you.

Cleaning Tips

doTERRA Cloud™ and Aroma Ace Diffusers

  1. Clean the nozzle before switching oils.
  2. Rinse the nozzle with tap water, or for deep cleaning, submerse the quick-change top in rubbing alcohol for 30–60 minutes.
  3. Wipe clean with a dry cloth.

PETAL, AROMA, LITE, AND LOTUS DIFFUSERS

Quick-Clean after Each Use

  1. Make sure to unplug your diffuser prior to cleaning.
  2. When removing excess water from the water tank, pour from the rear of the diffuser to avoid spilling on the operating buttons.
  3. Clean the inside of the water tank and the outside of the diffuser with a small amount of neutral detergent cotton cloth or a small foam brush. Avoid using any harsh cleaners on your diffuser.
  4. Rinse and dry.
  5. Use a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol to wipe the ultrasonic mist chip found inside the water tank.

Deep Clean Every Month

Cleaning is a necessary step to ensure that oil residue doesn’t build up in your machine preventing it from working properly. Periodically, it is a good idea to run your diffuser through a cleaning cycle. If you use your unit every day, then running a cleaning cycle monthly is a good idea. To do so, do the following:

  1. Fill your diffuser half way with clean water.
  2. Add 10 drops of white vinegar.
  3. Let the diffuser run for about 5 minutes to allow the water-vinegar mixture to disperse throughout the unit and clean it.
  4. Drain the diffuser completely.
  5. Using a cotton swab dipped in vinegar, clean the tight spots and corners of the diffuser.
  6. Rinse with clean water.
  7. Use a dry cloth to wipe the diffuser and dry it thoroughly.

Best Places to Use Diffusers

  • Bedrooms
  • Office desk
  • Hotel rooms
  • Spa room

Avoid placing your diffuser in direct sunlight or near a fan.

THE 2-STEP to GLOWING SKIN

MEN & WOMEN a simple routine for visible results

Taking care of my skin has always been a priority for me.  No one wants to age or have the person you are talking to speak to your pimple instead of you!  For years, before I became a licensed skin therapist, I heard many professionals talking about starting off with a cleansing oil.  Well, my skin was already oily, so no thank you!  Even after taking care of my clients for years, suggesting a cleansing oil and hearing how much they love it and how much their skin has changed for the better…I still refused to use a cleansing oil.  I always recommend a double-cleanse and I am religious about doing a double-cleanse every morning and every night.  Just ask my boyfriend that insists that I live in front of the bathroom sink, HA!

Most of us believe that cleansing your face once or rinsing it off in the shower is all you need; this is not the case.  I am especially talking to you gentlemen!  Throughout the day our skin accumulates dirt, debris, sweat, free radicals, oxidized makeup, bacteria, pizza sauce or salad dressing and more!  A proper cleansing will remove pore invading toxins and debris, reducing fine lines, wrinkles, acne, sun spots and more!

STEP ONE Remove all the surface grime that has built up during the day.  Whether you are sitting in an office, working out, laying in the sun or running errands, your skin is alive and functioning.  It is attracting loads of bacteria and dirt that you can’t see. The DBH Green Apple Premium Cleansing Oil contains a blend of Macadamia Nut Oil, Vitamin E, Jojoba oil and other natural extracts to clean and nourish your skin.  Due to it’s emulsifying properties, there is no oily residue left behind. Whether you are oily, acneic, sensitive, risk of breakout, dry, or aging, you will see amazing skin results.  In fact, if you have oily or acneic skin it will actually help your skin balance out!  Its ability to get deep down into the skin, remove excess oil buildup, dead skin cells and congestion is unreal!

STEP TWO use your daily cleanser that matches your skin type. This second cleanse will actually go deeper into the pores after using the cleansing oil.  Now all the ickiness that has built up during the day creating congestion, enlarged pores and blackheads will get pushed out!

Getting smoother, softer, glowing skin may just be as simple as a double cleanse.

By the way folks, each cleanse should only take 1-2 minutes.  That is not much time for healthy balanced skin.  Get attention for the glow, not the dull!

how to use

Dispense several pumps into dry hands.  Massage onto dry face and eyes to dissolve surface oil and dirt. To remove, wet fingertips with water and continue to gently massage until oil emulsifies and turns white. Rinse and remove with water. Can also be used to remove eye and lip makeup. Not for use on eyelash extensions.

Follow with appropriate face wash and moisturizer for your skin type.

LASH LOVE

I have been getting eyelash extensions for over 8 years now.  In the beginning I was nervous about the procedure and if they would be suitable for my lifestyle.  After about 3 months of getting fills and keeping my lashes in good condition, I became easily addicted.  The initial 2 hour full set was relaxing and time flew by.  It felt like I was only there for 30 minutes!!  No kidding  :)  I book regular fills every 2+ weeks based on my schedule and go in for a 1.0 to 1.5hr fill depending on what I feel I need.  Summer time I tend to stick with every 2 weeks since eyelashes grow faster in the heat and I frequent the beach more often!  The time I save throughout the weeks is more than justifiable for me to relax and give myself time to breathe.  Oh, and to be able to go to the beach with no makeup, no mascara and dive in the ocean without a worry and STILL come out looking amazing?!?!? Yes please, give me some lashes!

skinbio365 Classic I Full:

Speaking of makeup...When I first started getting extensions I used foundation, powder, eyeliner, shadow, mascara, brow pencil, lipstick and lip liner.  I ditched all of these in the following order: mascara, eyeshadows, eyeliner, foundation/powder, lipstick/liner, eyebrow pencil.   I am constantly on the road teaching classes, attending additional master esthetician courses, tending to clients and caring for my resort clientele.  I was amazed at the difference lashes made.  Not only did my eyes look bright, clear and big, but my skin also looked brighter.  This all sounds strange, but for you ladies that do eyelash extensions know exactly what I am talking about.  They bring out the natural feminine beauty in us!  The people around you even notice a difference in your appearance.  They just can't figure it out, hahahahahaha!

The main reason I love getting this treatment done is the way I feel confident, bright & beautiful, even without makeup!  I feel put together and ready to go without any fuss.  I must admit, my gentleman loves how fast I get ready too!  He also compliments me in the morning when I wake up!!  It is so nice to wake up and have him tell me how pretty I look!!!  I know, crazy talk right?!?!

The desired look is entirely up to you and can change based over a period of time once you have a chance to get used to them.  There are many spas, salons and lash boutique's that you can find.  The quality and end result you receive truly depends on the ability, experience and care of the technician.  I have been from the South Bay to Los Angeles, all with different results.  Some are good, some are less than favorable.  The saying holds true; You get what you pay for.  This is a personal experience between you and your professional eyelash technician.  It deserves the time and consideration to learn what works for you!
